This Day in Dayton, 21 March
The Semistate in March 1987 split the Hoyer family in Dayton. Brad Hoyer, a senior at Central Catholic High School, and Barbara Hoyer, a McCutcheon High School junior, both decorated a window at their home with good wishes for their respective teams. The games would be played in Mackey Arena, where first McCutcheon would play Gary Roosevelt, and then Central Catholic would play Carmel. The winners would play each other for the change to go to State.
