This Day in Dayton, 18 March

A windstorm in March of 1982 or 1983 took the roof of a 115-year-old home on SR 38 west of Dayton. Damage was estimated at $15,000. Victor Bushfield and his wife and two children, who were home at the time, were not injured. The two-story brick house was built by the Oliver Bartmess family about 1867. The damage was repaired, but a few years later, the house was demolished to make way for SIA.
