This Day in Dayton, 8 February

James Larry Robertson of Dayton was awarded a Purple Heart for service in the Viet Nam War. He was wounded on February 8, 1968 at Cu Chi on a “search and destroy” mission, surrounded by Viet Cong, when a grenade exploded burning his hand and wrist (Florence Biery, Dayton items, Journal and Courier, 11 April 1968).
