This Day in Dayton, 6 February

“Dayton Pupils to Compete on State Level” read the headline on an article in the Journal and Courier of 6 February 1965. The article reported the results of the Division 1 competition at Frankfort in the piano and vocal contest and the instrumental contest. Those scoring high enough to compete at the State level on February 20 were Pam Marshall, Carolyn Null, Becky Worman, and Lana Bol (a girls barbershop quartet), and Jim Fultz, Mike Short and Mike Grimes (a clarinet quartet with Carolyn Null). Others listed were Karen Graham, Linda Johnson, Judy Sanders, Bill Short, Tom Harshman, Cindy Yoder, Kathy Crumbo, Billy Yost, Susie Cassell, Tom Null, Mary Martin, Glenda Rebman, Cathy Servis, Sharon Beever, Vicky Conn, Lynn Snyder, Joan Haan, Linda Osterling, Portia Fleischhauer, Nedra Michael, Charles Robinson, Roberta Miller, Judy Roberts, Reatha Long, Robert Mays, Alayne Harshman, Ron Johnson, and Mrs. Leona M.
