This Day in Dayton, 1 September

S. C. A. T.  (Sheffield Citizens Against Trash) Newsletter, September 1, 1988, was printed to alert the community to the Special Exception Public Hearing set for September 28, 1988 to allow Pro Eco to ask for a special exception so it could obtain a permit from the State to operate a landfill in southern Sheffield Township. Pro Eco had already signed an option to buy the land where they proposed to locate a landfill.  The SCAT group has already consulted an attorney and met with local officials to fight the landfill.A local public meeting was called for September 14 at the School to let people know what they could do to fight the landfill. For further information, and if unable to attend the meeting, readers were urged to call Jim Martin.
