This Day in Dayton, 30 July

On July 28, 1999 an article in the Journal and Courier reported on planned expansion in the Town Hall. It was hoped that taking over the entire main floor of the building would remove the need to occasionally move the meetings to the fire station. Now that the town grocery business had been sold, a wall would be removed to double the size of the meeting room. A handicap accessible entrance would also be added. Off street parking would also be provided behind the building. The town would use a loan of $130,000 to pay for the expansion along with funds from the town treasury. It was also hoped to build two apartments on the second floor.
