This Day in Dayton, 14 December

On December 14, 1851, Clark Alexander, fifteen-year-old son of James Alexander, a local farmer, died at his father’s home east of Dayton. The Dayton Section No. 98, Cadets of Temperance, passed a resolution in his honor, gave a copy of it to the boy’s parents, had it published in the Courier, and attended the funeral “in procession” (Courier, Dec. 16, 1851).
